Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Do I have to pay the registration fees if I already paid in JoSAA?

Yes. CSAB Special Round is a distinct process. However, the fee amount varies. Candidates who retained seats in JoSAA pay a lower processing fee, while candidates registering fresh pay the full institutional booking deposit. Check the brochure on csab.nic.in for exact details.

What happens to my JoSAA seat if I get a new seat in CSAB?

It is automatically cancelled. If you receive a fresh allotment in the CSAB Special Round, your previous JoSAA allotted seat is instantly released and allocated to another candidate. You cannot choose between the two; you must take the new CSAB seat.

Which institutions participate in CSAB Special Rounds?

All National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), and Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs) participate to fill their vacant quotas.
