Delhi University's Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) 2026 is now in its final stretch. Rounds I and II are complete, the upgrade round result was declared on August 1, 2026, and its fee payment deadline lapsed on August 4.

Who Can — and Cannot — Use the Mid-Entry Window

  • Eligible: Candidates who did not register for CSAS (UG) 2026 in Phase I at all.
  • Eligible: Candidates who completed Phase I registration but never filled preferences in Phase II.
  • Eligible: Candidates whose forms were rejected for subject-mapping, eligibility or document errors (correction leg).
  • Not eligible: ECA, Sports, CW and Ward supernumerary quota applicants.

You still need a valid CUET UG 2026 score. Mid-entry is an entry into the counselling process, not a bypass of the eligibility rules. DU's subject-mapping requirement remains strict: you must have appeared in CUET (UG) 2026 in the subjects you studied and passed in Class XII, and you must have taken at least one language paper from the approved list.

How to Complete Mid-Entry Before Midnight — Step by Step

Open ugadmission.uod.ac.in and log in with your CUET UG 2026 application number, or create a fresh CSAS account if you never registered.
Complete the CSAS Phase I details — personal information, Class XII board and subjects, category, and supernumerary claims where applicable.
Upload the required documents and verify that your Class XII subjects map correctly to your CUET UG 2026 subjects. This is the single most common cause of rejection.
Pay the Rs 1,000 mid-entry fee plus the applicable CSAS registration fee. Save the transaction reference.
Move to Phase II and fill your programme-plus-college preferences. Add as many realistic combinations as you can — Round 3 is a vacancy-driven round and a short list gets you nothing.
Review the order carefully, then submit before 11:59 PM on August 5, 2026. Take a screenshot and download the confirmation page.

Do not leave this to 11:00 PM. The CSAS portal historically slows under load on closing night, and a failed payment at 11:50 PM cannot be rescued. Finish the payment step at least a few hours before the cut-off.

How Rounds I and II Went — The Numbers That Set Up Round 3

Round I was enormous. 93,033 candidates were allotted seats, out of 2,18,284 who completed preference filling. Across all categories, roughly 86.1% of available seats were filled in that single round. Students submitted just under 1.6 crore unique programme-college preferences between them.

Reported outcomes from Round I: 63,756 admissions were completed, with 15,265 candidates freezing their seats and 48,153 opting to upgrade. The freeze and upgrade counts are as reported and do not sum exactly to the admissions figure, so treat them as indicative. The direction is unambiguous, though — the overwhelming majority chose to upgrade, which is exactly why so many seats churn back into the pool for later rounds.

If you belong to the ST or PwBD categories, Round 3 is a genuinely strong opportunity — a third of ST seats and more than three-quarters of PwBD seats went unfilled in Round I. UR candidates entering now should be realistic and fill a long, wide preference list rather than chasing three top colleges.
