How to Challenge the Answer Key — Objection Process

When the provisional answer key is released on May 25, you'll have a short window to challenge any answers you believe are incorrect:

Login to jeeadv.ac.in using your registration credentials after May 25, 10:00 AM
Navigate to "Challenge Answer Key" or "Objection" section on the candidate portal
Select the specific question(s) you want to challenge — review carefully before selecting

Pay the objection fee per question (as specified on the portal) — fee is refundable if your challenge is accepted
Submit before May 26, 5:00 PM — save the acknowledgement receipt for your records
⚠️
Critical Deadlines:
• Objection window is only ~31 hours (May 25, 10 AM → May 26, 5 PM) — don't wait!
• Prepare your justifications and reference materials in advance
• Once the window closes, no further challenges will be accepted
• The fee is refundable only if IIT Roorkee accepts your objection

What Happens After Results — JoSAA Counselling 2026

🎓
If You Qualify — JoSAA Counselling Process:
JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) conducts centralized counselling for all 23 IITs + NITs + IIITs + GFTIs
Registration: After results, register at josaa.nic.in — fill choices of IIT, branch & preference order
Multiple Rounds: JoSAA conducts 5-6 rounds of seat allotment — you can upgrade in subsequent rounds
Document Verification: Carry all original documents — 12th marksheet, JEE Advanced scorecard, category certificate
Seat Acceptance Fee: Pay the seat acceptance fee online to confirm your allotment
Important: JEE Advanced qualified candidates get priority for IIT seats. JEE Main score is used for NIT/IIIT/GFTI seats
📈
Didn't Qualify? Don't Worry:
• Your JEE Main score is still valid for admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs through JoSAA
State-level entrance exams: WBJEE, MHT-CET, KCET, COMEDK — check if you're registered
Private university exams: BITSAT, VITEEE, SRMJEE, MET — many still have open counselling rounds
Retake next year: If eligible, prepare for JEE Advanced 2027 — many toppers succeed on their second attempt
