MHT CET 2026 Engineering Counselling Round 1: Final Merit List Released; Check Seat Allotment & CAP Schedule
The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra has officially declared the Final Merit List for MHT CET 2026 B.Tech / B.E. Centralized Admission Process (CAP) Round 1. Candidates who registered for engineering admissions in Maharashtra state universities and autonomous institutes can now download their state-level and category-wise merit ranks from the official CET portal fe2026.mahacet.org.
With the publication of the final merit list, the window for Option Form Filling and Choice Locking for CAP Round 1 has officially opened for all eligible candidates.

🔍 How to Check MHT CET 2026 Final Merit List
Candidates can check their merit status following these steps:
- Visit the official portal:
fe2026.mahacet.org. - Click on the link titled "Final Merit List Status for B.E. / B.Tech Admissions 2026".
- Log in using your Application ID (EN26xxxxxx) and Date of Birth.
- Verify your State Merit Rank, University Rank, Category Rank, and TFWS Eligibility.
- Download and save the merit PDF for reference during physical institute reporting.
⚙️ CAP Round 1 Choice Filling Rules & Options
During the option form filling stage, candidates can submit up to 300 institute-branch combinations in order of preference.
[!IMPORTANT] Understanding Seat Acceptance Options:
- Auto-Freeze: If a candidate is allotted their 1st Preference, the seat is automatically frozen. The candidate must accept the seat, pay the seat acceptance fee, and report to the college. Failing to do so will disqualify them from subsequent CAP rounds.
- Self-Freeze: If a candidate is allotted any choice between 2nd and 300th preference and is satisfied, they can select Self-Freeze to secure the seat.
- Not-Freeze (Betterment / Float): Candidates who are allotted a seat between 2nd and 300th preference but wish to participate in CAP Round 2 for a higher preference can pay the seat acceptance fee and select Not-Freeze.
